Formula and method
Required FTE = items × minutes/item / 60 / (scheduled hours/FTE × (1−shrinkage) × target utilization).
Worked example
1,000 items × 15 min = 250 hours; each FTE has 102.4 usable hours; need 2.4414 FTE.
