How to use this calculator
Use matching beginning and ending inventory values, COGS, and period length.
Formula and method
Turns = COGS / ((start inventory + end inventory)/2). Days in inventory = period days / turns.
Worked example
COGS 120,000 and inventory 20,000 to 30,000 gives 4.8 turns and about 76.04 days over 365 days.
Assumptions and supported scope
Zero COGS produces undefined days. Period comparisons require matching lengths and valuation methods; no industry benchmark is assumed.
