Formula and method
EOQ = √(2DS/H), where D is annual units, S is cost per order, H is holding cost per unit per year.
Worked example
D=10,000, S=50, H=2 gives EOQ≈707.107 units and combined cost≈1,414.214 per year.
Assumptions and supported scope
Classic EOQ only; no quantity discounts, variable lead time or stockouts. Compare a separate reorder point for timing.
